The yards before we turned up.

We started GlowUp recently, so we would rather show you the whole job than a folder of finished photos. This is what these places looked like when we first walked in.

Budget friendly options available

The client’s entry ramp was in desperate need of some love as the house was going on the market in a matter of weeks, however she only had a very limited budget to work with. We were able to meet her needs with this high quality yet budget friendly, treated pine access ramp and handrail.

Yard levelling and retaining

Bare dirt and a collapsing sleeper edge turned into a level lawn with new retaining, pebble borders and a spot for a fire pit. The whole yard became usable ground.

Why it lasts

Boards are what you see. The frame is what holds it up.

Bearers, joists at a spacing the boards are actually rated for, posts on footings that go into stable ground rather than fill. It is the part nobody photographs and the part that decides whether a deck is still solid in fifteen years.

It is also the part you cannot inspect once the boards are down, which is why it is worth knowing who did it.

Jed Griffiths

I grew up in Tasmania and started in the building industry in 2018. I moved up to the Sunshine Coast in March 2023 and have loved every minute of it, mostly for the weather and the beaches. Outside of work you will find me on a golf course, at the gym, or in the surf.

Our aim with GlowUp is straightforward: transform homes with work that is actually well built, and be the kind of tradesmen people are happy to recommend. You get told what things cost before they happen, you get a start date we intend to keep, and the work is done by people who take pride in it rather than a subcontractor nobody has met.
